Multiple Choice Questions with Multiple Answers
Other PTE Tips
The test format of MCQs has multiple answers and has similarity with one another. There is more than one possible answer to the question. The test takers have to choose the best answer from a list, given under the question. When the test starts, the computer screen displays a question and a few answers. Then a recording is played and the test takers have to answer the question.
The audio is played only once. The test takers have no option to replay it. You get only 5-7 seconds to read the question and its possible answers before the audio starts. Use left-click to select and de-select the answer.
When you are listening to the audio, it is advisable to take notes. They will help you to find out the correct answer. A few similar answers may confuse you but if you have noted down the information, it can save you from botheration.
Search for the Right Information
While searching for the answer, go for information and do not locate the exact words on the audio. To confuse you, the answers are deliberately similar to the words spoken on the audio. It is therefore necessary to search for the right information that the question actually needs as an answer and not words.
Read Question Carefully
If you read the question with attention, you can easily know what information you have to find out from the audio. It will make your task quite easy and help you pick right answer or a guideline from listening the information on audio.
Don’t Lose Attention
This test requires utmost attention on the part of the test takers. If you fail to read the question and the multiple answers or do not concentrate to listen to the information on the tape, you can’t answer the question.
